The delivery teams have started one of regional contracts removing chewing gum and deep cleansing the footpaths. We have been involved with our client for a number of years and we regularly remove the chewing gum every 4 months, maintaining a high standard of low gum levels throughout the city centre. Combining deep cleans with spot teams that control the chewing gum levels throughout the year results in excellent visual results for the general public.
We have taken several random surveys of the area asking the general public their opinions of the pavements and we have a number of comments stating the lower levels of chewing gum compared to other town centres. These surveys help our client continue to obtain funding to reduce the gum levels in the main pedestrian routes in the city, as the cost to carry out the works can be reconciled with the public’s opinion.

A Challenging Clean
This week we started one of our most challenging cleans in Birmingham City Centre.
Broad Street as many know is the hub of Birmingham’s nightlife and is alive 24/7.Health and Safety is a major issue on this project as the streets are never quiet. Also we need to look after the local businesses and keep disruptions down to minimum.
Before we start any shift our team has to speak to the bars and restaurant owners before hand to ascertain which are there quietist times so that we are able barrier off areas to work within and still allow access for the public and customers.
Fortunately having done this now for a number of years we have built up a rapport with the business owners are able to make sure that one of the city’s most visited streets is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness

A Return to Gracechurch Shopping Centre
Ramora returned to Gracechurch Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield this week to carry out one of it’s contract cleans.
One team was in the multi storey car park cleaning the main roadway that leads from the entrance barrier to the exit. This requires regular attention due to the amount of traffic and also being the most high profile area.
Another team was sent in to clean a specific area within the shopping centre in readiness for one of our sister companies Slipguard to follow in behind and apply an anti slip-floor surface treatment. Injuries due to slippery falls are increasingly common and the aim of this exercise is to demonstrate to our client that we can supply a full package of not only an on going, high quality cleaning service but also provide them with a safer environment for there customers and workforce.

City Centre Chewing Gum Removal
The delivery teams have been focused in delivering several city centre deep cleans, which involves a thorough deep clean of the pavements and then removal of the chewing gum. Working with our key clients we have been sending in spotting teams to identify key chewing gum problem areas, such as outside of food retail units, around litter bins and meeting areas.
The chewing gum removal teams, then target these areas prior to the deep clean to allow more efficient production and a higher proportion of gum removal. Although at Ramora we strive for ZERO gum, working late at night can have the problems of seeing all the chewing gum on the pavements. This two stage process although more expensive does although greater improvement in chewing gum identification.
When doing chewing gum spotting it does leave the pavement streaky until the deep clean is carried out, but our clients can also see the benefits of a deep clean and are delighted with the chewing gum levels following the operation.

Clean in Chelmsford
We had a team of operators return to Chelmsford this week to carry out a specific clean of bus stops and street furniture within the town centre for the local council.
Having recently invested heavily in a street cleaning programme, the council are looking to maintain the high standards of cleanliness.
We have been asked every fortnight to carry out a deep cleanse to all prominent street furniture and bus stops. Working from the early hours of the morning this can be carried out with minimal disruption to locals and commuters.

Chewing Gum Removal Project
The delivery teams have just concluded a major first clean of Chemlsford High street, on time and delivering to the exacting standards of the client. The levels of chewing gum in key locations, outside fast food shops and similar retail outlets was high. However, with the use of our technology the chewing gum was quickly removed leaving a fresh clean footpath.
The teams are now starting another chewing gum removal project for Wolvohampton. The gums levels are variable but we will assess the number of pieces we have removed at the end of the project.
Some areas are bordering upto 40 pieces per sq m so a reasonable challenge for the teams.

Delivering Planned Works
Ramora have had another busy week delivering planned works for long standing clients and helping clients who have urgent requests. However our main achievement is the nearing of completion our first deep clean of Chelmsford city centre.
As a new contract for Ramora the operational teams were keen to meet the clients standards and our own. The day before a large inspection by the client, a detailed walk around the completed works highlighted a problem with a refuge vehicle. A councils vehicle had left huge staining over the length of the High Street, which is over 300metres long.
Although not part of our contracted works the two teams decided to wash down the High Street after they had completed their evening shift.
The following mornings detailed inspection gained sign off and a huge thank you from the client, who was aware of the problem and had no easy solution. Ramora felt that although the issue was not our problem we always try to provide a solution as the teams take a pride in their work, and always try to exceed the clients targets.

Another busy week for Ramora
Another busy week for Ramora this week with our teams located in Chelmsford, Redditch,Birmingham and Maidstone.
We also have upcoming work at De Montfort University and all necessary health and safety questionnaires and checks have been completed this week in order for us to be fully prepared for when we commence work.
These checks are paramount to ensuring a safe environment for not only our employees but for those individuals on campus.
We also still have our vacancy available and have had a very good response. We are now in the process of looking through those applications and moving onto the interview stage.

Scolmore International Clean
Ramora sent a team to Scolmore International Ltd in Tamworth this week, to clean the front of their Head Office.
There have been attempts before to clean the cladding that is constantly being stained by rain water dripping from the roof and leaving unsightly runs down the front of the building. Working from an access platform and using a Dynajet 350 with water temperature set at 130 degrees c we were able to get underneath these water marks and remove the stains.
Being able to work with such high water temperature was important as this enabled us to keep the pressure on the lance down to 110 bar and therefore not cause any damage to the cladding itself.

Successful Week for Ramora
Ramora Operation Teams have had a successful week, completing a number of projects as the weather allows us to continue to operate although the snow keeps on trying to threatening our production. We have completed another Car Retail showroom clean for Ferrari, and a building facade clean on Broad Street.
The facade clean was particularly challenging, needing lane closures in the centre of Birmingham, pedestrian management , access and power washing machines. The operation began at 1.30am and concluded before 5am, with all plant and equipment removed from site by 6.30am prior to the early morning commuter traffic.
On future work we have been secured a shopping centre deep clean and chewing gum removal, commencing in two weeks time, with the client eager to have all works concluded before the end of March. In addition we have also completed a high level clean, using our IRATA teams, completing a window clean of an office block and surrounding canopies.
Our final meeting of the week was to discuss with Scheldabow and Laing O Rourke a programmed building clean in London, using both BMU’s and IRATA’s. Although originally programmed for 8 weeks, the client has requested a shorter period on site of just 5 weeks, difficult due to the shape of the building but achievable with multiple teams. Just another challenge for the operation teams.

Enquiries on the up!
The business seems to be in constant enquiry mode at the moment with numerous calls being taken from existing and potentially new customers. As the new financial year approaches clients are now taking this opportunity to see how they need to plan their budgets for the next 12 months.
With such a large number of potential jobs the business is beginning to talk to our existing customers to ensure delivery of our longstanding commitments. There could be some very busy months ahead for the delivery teams.
The Operations teams have delivered another Car Dealership clean this time for the world renowned Ferrari brand, with the client suggesting they are very happy with the results and asking if we can programme another clean in 12 months time.
This is mainly due to the clients seeing the benefit of a spring clean ready for the summer ahead(if it ever comes) and realising that this could help promote the professional image of their dealership and brand.

Motor Dealer Cleaning
Ramora have traditional cleaned several car showrooms all over the UK. However, with the economic climate many of our clients have had to look at their annual cleaning budgets as well as other areas of expenditure and look to make savings.
One of our long standing clients had been doing just that Guy Salmon, but after several years of not addressing there external facade cleaning, we were called in to deep clean their building. Although the team had difficult weather conditions, after a long weekend the building was handed back to the client in pristine condition. The quality of the clean was such that Guy Salmon in Sheffield will now be looking to revert back to an annual clean as the difference was dramatic, helping to promote their professional image.
As the economic climate improves we are beginning to receive many more enquires from our car retail clients as they look to enhance their image to potential customers.
Why not find out further information on our motor dealer cleaning service.

Ramora Win Major Prestigious Contracts
After several attempts in the last few months, Ramora have won not one but two major prestigious contracts. One for a leading envelope specialist, carrying out a builders clean and the other for chewing gum removal for a council. Coupled with two small orders for motor dealership cleaning, we have almost forgotten about the big freeze.
Now the focus for the business is to continue talking to our previous clients whilst trying to utilise our reputation to gain further work. With several demonstrations going very well with major clients we are looking forward to a busy March/ April.
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of one of our new DESC machines that will hopefully be rolled out to the Operation Teams within the next three weeks.

Dynajet Machine Demonstrations
It’s been a busy week for sales with the demo teams carrying out client visits to Westfield Shopping centre, Lidl’s in Croydon and The Potteries Shopping Centre in Stoke on Trent. We took these opportunities to demonstrate the capability of our Dynajet machines.
The key benefits for potential clients taking the demo experience are to see Ramora at their best and the professional manner with which we conduct these demonstrations free of charge. (Please contact us for a demonstration).
Clients ask what we need to carry out the demonstration and our response is always the same, just your time. Our machinery is totally stand alone and can operate for at least 30 minutes, ample time to show how we can deep cleanse a multiple of surfaces.

Busy Working on Proposals
This week we have been working on new proposals that will be sent out to potential clients within car retail sector. The reason for this is after our site visit we are in a better position to ascertain what it is our client fully requires from us. We can then respond accordingly and provide a more detailed quotation/price/schedule of works??
We are also looking at ways we can update our database and maintain a relationship with our clients in order to meet their existing needs as well as in the future .

Development of New Cleaning System
Ramora are continually seeking to improve methods of cleaning. In conjunction with our machine supplier Dynajet we are in the process of developing our latest machine to provide a softer method for cleaning buildings and removing graffiti.
Keep monitoring our website for further details on the soon to be launched DESC system which will stand for Dynajet Enviro Soft Clean System.
The system will offer better cleaning results with lower pressure but higher operating temperature’s up to 150 degrees.
Ramora are in the process of developing a completely contained DESC system within a purposely branded van. Pictures will appear soon so look out for them at www.ramora.co.uk

Successful Car Park Cleaning
Although all the operational teams are tucked up with their slippers and coco, the Ramora sales team are working hard to keep in touch with several of its key clients and forge ahead with new ones.
After a very successful car park cleaning operation at Kingfisher Shopping centre, Ramora have been requested to clean the previous car park and an additional two car parks, following our high quality clean which previous companies couldn’t achieve. In addition we have client visits arranged with the largest retail shopping outlet in Europe namely Westfield Shopping Centre.
With the big freeze still gripping us, we are waiting to carry out demonstrations for two large retail giants in Tesco and Lidl.
Heres praying for some sun.

German Market Birmingham
When everybody else was getting ready for Christmas last Thursday , Christmas Eve , Ramora bound into action to help one of their key clients Birmingham City Council. The German mobile market has been a main stay feature in Birmingham City Centre for a number of years and this year it was bigger and more supported than ever.
The market roles out of the city from 9pm on the 23rd December and due to its popular food stalls the main Victoria Square can be left a dangerous slip hazard to the general public.
Ramora had two teams and 2 Putzmeister Dynajet 500 steam pressure washers in Victoria Square at 6am Christmas Eve morning to deep clean with steam the grease left on the floor.
Ramora worked in partenrship with the Highways and council departments to insure the steam did not freeze causing a further trip hazard.
All areas steam cleaned were gritted immediately post cleanse to avoid this happening.
